School council is the legally formed body that is given powers to set the key directions of a school. It is the major governing body of the school that, within DEECD guidelines, decides the future directions for the school and oversees the school’s operation.
Becoming a member of School Council is an excellent way to become involved in our school. Much of the work of School Council is achieved through the following committees – Policy, Finance, Buildings and Grounds.
Each of these Committees consists of parents and teachers. Parents do not have to be a member of School Council to be a member of one of these Committees and the Council’s Committees generally meet once a month.
Our current School Council consists of 13 members, 8 from the school community and 5 from the school staff.
Leigh Cooksley (President), Scott Somers (Vice President), Jorja Polglase (Secretary), Chris Kellett (Executive Officer), Rebecca Lang, Toni-Anne McFarlane, Kristin Blinman, Karen Inkster, Susan Knorpp, Bonnie Gunn, Mick Templeton, Sharon Robinson and Jess Laney.
